The Reviews Are In!
Here's what everyone has to say about Magician Matt Matthews!
Who Is Magician Matt Matthews?
Matt Matthews (formerly known as Matt The Balloon Man), a New Haven native (born at Yale New Haven Hospital and a graduate of Career High School on Legion Ave), has been performing magic since he was a child. Matt has performed at everything from kids’ birthday parties, to city functions, schools, and libraries. After his performance at the New Haven Fireworks outside Wilder Cross High School, Kyle Yoder from the Department of Arts, Culture & Tourism wrote:
He was great at the New Haven Fourth of July!
I hired Matt to create his balloon masterpieces for the City of New Haven's family-friendly festivities leading up to our Fourth of July fireworks. Once the first kid received his balloon … they started lining up in droves. Matt was always happy to oblige, though, making sure each and every kid left with a smile and a creation of their own, whether it was a superhero, a funky hat, or their very own life-sized Olaf (from Disney's 'Frozen'). I would highly recommend him for your event!
And following his performance for New Haven Headstart on Cedar St., Janic Maysonet wrote:
[Matt Matthews] has many tricks up his sleeves, pun intended. Matt was great, true artist with balloon twisting. Enjoyed his work and the kids did too
Matt has also given back to the community. Although Matt often has to turn down requests to volunteer his services (especially for big businesses that want him to work for exposure), Matt has been happy to donate his services to the kids at the Ronald McDonald House on Howard Ave., and volunteered for a Make-A-Wish-Foundation fundraiser to benefit terminally ill children, hosted at Southern Connecticut State University.
What Should Parents Expect?
Don’t sweat it! When you hire Matt Matthews, he's got you covered. Matt’s goal is to make the party stress free for you, so he will bring all the equipment he needs to perform; you just supply the kids and the party! Matt advises parents, “when it’s time to begin the magic show, it’s best to have the party kids sit near me on the ground, crisscross applesauce. I’ll keep their attention and invite the birthday child to join me ‘on stage’ at the beginning and the end of the show.”
